Instead of paying high entrance fees for parking the RV, there are many places to park free of charge. It’s not outdoor camping in the usual sense, but if you don’t mind spending the night in a large parking lot, there are many cheap or free RV camping lots.

Wal Mart Provides Free RV Camping

If you’re on the road and searching for free RV camping that is safe, stop by the first Wal Mart that you see. It is Wal Mart’s company policy to let RV campers to stay free of charge in Wal Mart parking lots. You can go grocery shopping to stock up on supplies, sit down for a hot meal in a restaurant, and buy those extra towels that you wanted. A big plus is that the majority of Wal Marts have security personnel around at all times. While their job is not to protect you specifically, you will feel safer just knowing that they are there in the event something happens.

Fraternal Lodges for Free RV Camping
Elks Club Lodges offer free parking for RVs.  These lodges typically have a restaurant on site, and schedule fun activities like bull roasts or dances. If you want to socialize and have a good time, this can be the ideal place to park your RV for the night. However, you are required to be an Elks Lodge member in order to to take advantage of their activities.

Advice For Free RV Camping

Some establishments such as certain roadside restaurants and rest stops will allow RVs to park free. If you use free RV camping, there are some courtesy guidelines to abide by if you do. If a company is allowing you to stay free, you should do your best to reciprocate that kindness. The best way to accomplish this is to make a point of spending some money in the establishment. If you are parking over night at a Flying J rest stop, for example, make certain that you at least eat dinner or breakfast in the restaurant. You should also buy your gas there. You will be helping them to make free RV parking available for other people just like you.
